Marseille are now third in the standings on 58 points with three matches left after Nancy (57) drew 1-1 at Valenciennes.

Eric Gerets's side went ahead on 28 minutes through playmaker Samir Nasri only for Ignacio Gonzalez to level the tie 10 minutes into the second half.

Nancy's hopes of remaining in third place suffered a setback in Valenciennes.
