Owen Hargreaves will reportedly sign for Manchester United from Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

The England midfielder agreed terms and passed his medical last week and the £17million deal is expected to be tied up shortly, according to the Manchester Evening News.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been chasing Hargreaves since last summer and Bayern have eventually decided to cash in as they prepare for next season without Champions League football.

Hargreaves said: "I have been lucky to play in big games and win some wonderful titles. I have won everything a player can in Germany - titles, the Champions League and even the World Club Championship.

"It is now about experiencing that somewhere else and I can't wait to start over again. The prospect of adding a Premiership winner's medal to my collection is incredibly exciting."
