SPL - St Etienne playmaker Pascal Feindouno has claimed he would relish a move to Rangers.

Reports in the French press suggest the Ibrox club are in pole position to land the Guinean star with winger Libor Sionko possibly moving in the opposite direction.

Feindouno has also been linked to Spanish clubs Deportivo La Coruna, Levante and Valencia but his friendship with Glasgow-bound Bordeaux striker Jean-Claude Darcheville could make the difference.

Feindouno said: "Rangers are a huge club and Jean-Claude is my friend so this could be tempting for me.

"The Scottish League is very physical and that would be a real challenge. But it would allow me to play in the Champions League."

Feindouno is valued at around £4million which would be out of Rangers' reach, although the player's agent insists there is room for negotiation.

"We know Rangers are interested, but they are not the only club," said Amadou Diaby.

"However, Rangers could be a good solution for Pascal. They are obviously a big club with a big tradition.

"The fact Jean-Claude Darcheville will be playing for them next season is a good thing.

"St Etienne are ready to let him go and they have set a price of £4m. But even this could be negotiable."
