MK Dons physio Simon Crampton has revealed the club will turn to an unusual method in order to get defender Drissa Diallo fit for pre-season.The 35-year-old underwent keyhole surgery on an arm injury in April and is currently undergoing intensive rehabilitation in order to be fit for next season.

However the veteran will also be using the Nintendo Wii games console in an extra effort to recover from the injury.

"We took Driss to see the specialist on Friday and everything is going to plan. He can now take the sling off and start working on his shoulder mobility," Crampton told the club's official website.

"The Wii is perfect for what Drissa needs to work on. The varying diagonal movements utilised in gameplay are a lot closer to normal movements than most exercises we can give him.

"Some of the new programmes that are available would also be of great use for other types of rehabilitation. They work on core body strength, which is a key attribute for professional footballers, so it should be a useful addition to our medical facilities."
