Charlton hitman Andy Gray wants to put a disappointing first season at The Valley behind him by firing the Addicks towards promotion next term. The 30-year-old was signed by Alan Pardew from Burnley in January but did not get off the mark until his 13th game, against Southampton in April.
Gray followed up his maiden strike with another against Coventry on the final day of the season and wants to build on his successful end to the campaign.
"It was a really pleasing end to the season for me," he told the club's official website.
"Obviously I'd gone a long time without scoring - probably the longest in my career - so to get my first goal was a relief and to follow it up with another goal in the next home game was great as well.
"When I joined I was looking to - and possibly expected to - score the goals to help Charlton into the Premier League. But that didn't happen for one reason or another, so now we have to look to next season."
