Carlisle striker Gary Madine has been offered a new three-year deal at Brunton Park after being tipped for a great career by manager John Ward. The highly-rated youngster - who has already caught the eye of Premier League side Newcastle - made his Cumbrian debut in their 1-1 draw with Bournemouth in their last league game of the season.
Boss John Ward has underlined the importance of keeping the 17-year-old's feet on the ground in what will be his full debut season in League One.
Ward told the Carlisle News & Star: "He has the chance of a good career and he has a great attitude. He's not a lazy boy or a soft boy and the good thing about him is that he wants a Carlisle shirt."
"We have to be careful how much we expect of him next year and he has to be looked after.
"We have to tread very carefully with him, and there won't be 40 games and 25 goals out of him next season."
