Aberdeen director of football Willie Miller is hopeful of bringing in three more players after handing new contracts to a trio of Dons players.Midfielder Stuart Duff signed a two-year deal after joining on a short-term basis from Dundee United in January.
French goalkeeper Bertrand Bossu has also signed after impressing on a trial period and 17-year-old midfielder Sammy Stewart completed his move from Irish League side Glenavon.
Miller is now hopeful of persuading full-back Alan Maybury to sign up after he joined in January from Leicester.
Miller told RedTV: "We know the amount we are going to have in the first-team pool and we are getting pretty close to filling all the slots.
"We have got three and we have probably got another two or three we are looking to sign over the summer."
The former Dons skipper and manager admits he cannot compete financially with English clubs when trying to persuade Maybury to extend his stay, but he hopes the prospect of challenging in the top half of the SPL will help.
"We would be delighted to keep Alan," he said. "I have had long conversations with him. He seems to have enjoyed his time at Aberdeen.
"He has been playing at a high level and a high level financially, that we cannot compete with, but we hope to compete in football terms.
"He is a football man and he wants to be playing at a high level and competing at the right end of the table."
Aberdeen had already signed Oldham midfielder Gary McDonald and extended Lee Miller's contract, while former Motherwell midfielder Richie Foran is expected to join from Southend.
Duff, 26, was delighted to extend his stay at his hometown club after initially struggling following his move from Tannadice.
Duff admitted he had not been match-fit after struggling to hold down a place in United's team but felt his form had improved towards the end of the campaign.
"It's an absolute privilege," he said of staying with the Dons. "Aberdeen is steeped in history and I just want to be a part of it. It's a boyhood dream."
Bossu, 27, has joined after impressing on a trial period following his departure from Walsall.
The 6ft 7in keeper has had a string of clubs in England without establishing himself as a regular starter but he hopes to have better luck at Pittodrie.
"I have been unlucky," he said. "For Gillingham I started playing a few games in the Championship and got injured, and that was it.
"It was the same at Darlington, I played a few games and broke my foot."
Like Duff and Bossu, teenager Stewart has signed a two-year deal after joining on an initial £15,000 switch from Glenavon.
