Wright tips Town boss to spend

Wed 28 May, 02:30 PM

David Wright believes the arrival of "quality" new players over the summer will help Ipswich push for promotion next season.Boss Jim Magilton is looking to strengthen his squad after the departures of Jason De Vos, Fabian Wilnis and Sylvain Legwinski.

Several players have been linked with moves to Portman Road and Wright is hoping a rejuvenated squad can make a push for the Premier League.

"I'm sure the gaffer will be bringing in new players over the next month or two," Wright told the club's official website.

"He has a few pennies to spend now with the Marcus Evans investment and he will be looking at some quality players. The squad has really moved on from when I first arrived and the results are there to see on the pitch.

"We were one point from the play-offs and I'm sure the gaffer is looking for that extra class to come in and help take us onto the next level."
