A Manchester United fan in Nigeria killed four people when he drove his minibus into a crowd of Barcelona supporters after his team lost the Champions League final.
The crowd in the town of Ogbo were celebrating Barcelona's victory after the match when the bus drove into them. A police spokeswoman said 10 people were injured and the driver was arrested.
"The driver had passed the crowd then made a U-turn and ran into them," she said.
Barcelona beat Manchester United 2-0 in what was hailed as a dream final between two of Europe's best clubs. Both teams have large fan bases in Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation.

This is pure stupidity. We kill each other for European clubsides that dont even know wether we exist while our own league is neglected. I am a Chelsea fan and I would never kill anyone on Chelseas behalf.
How retarded you can be these United fans.
Football is not always about winning although it is sad when your team lose, but to murder someone because of that, then you need your brains examined.
Did United think Barca were going to bulldozed? No way.
When we played Barca, we took the lead, but unfortunately lost the match, but we didn't go to that extent of killing someone.
These football fans need to grow up, because it is only and only a game.
If you wanna know peace and experience it in all material respects Why don,t you
juss take a tour to Zimbabwe. Even the disgrantled Zimbabweans who are so angry coz
of their stupid president will give you a smile that stretches all the way from one
ear to the other. The Man U fans in Zim are, as i speak, helping the Barca Fans there
in their celebrations Not some stupid thing that I hear has happened in Nigeria oooo.
Why didn't this Nigerian fella go to Zim and drove into Mugabe's corrugated iron
house at night? He could have improved peace levels in Zim to 100% (From my
understanding Mugabe is a big Barca fan).
May their innocent souls rest in eternal peace.
In Nigeria, European clubsides have their huge fan base. Its such a pity that our local league is dying while we jeer and cheer European teams. Its also a shame that innocent lives have to be lost in such tragic waste. I am a Nigerian, residing in Edo State (Benin City), and I would never think of such a thing not to talk of doing it. We should try to encourage our local teams like Bendel Insurance, Warri Wolves, Plateau United, Bayelsa United, Sharks FC, Dolphins FC, etc instead of making jest of them in translating such into a shameful attitude.
That is Nonsense, I am Arsenal Fan I would never Kill anyone from Nigeria, Man Utd Fans most of them are Ma d and non sense
STEPHEN H i'm a Manchester United fan, but what i've got to tell you is that Nigeria isn't a 3rd world country. Violence in Asia, South Africa and even sometimes in USA is more than that found in Nigeria, so mind what you write. Thank you!!
Elivis P what cloud you living on,daddy been reading you nursery rhymes again
All ur comments about United fans totally unfounded some one died in a 3rd world country where violence is an everyday occurrence, United/Football just an excuse
Fu*king looser
Man U is not a CLUB?
THIS SHOWS HOW JEALOUS,WICKED,SELF-CENTERED AND GREEDY Man U Fans are why did he kill other people that was celebrating instead of killing himself a hundred times! Man u are HOLIGANS! Why????

and didn't manc fans somewhere in africa hanged an arsenal fan?
this is what happens when football becomes business. why do nigerians celebrate or lose their minds when an english team wins or loses? talk about people out of their minds. I guess the world is overpopulated so nature would take anything at this point.
that is stupid behaviour!!!!!!!!!! wtf was he thinking it is really sad!
its these man utd fans.....THEY DO NOT GET IT
f***** idiot tea im a man utd supporter and i was upset when we lost but he is not a real supporter a real supporter takes it on the chin and is proud of what the team achived this year he is a disgrace to the people of nigeria and the rest of the man utd suppoters
if the story is true, it is a pity for both the dead and the captive. i would not trade my freedom for anything at all. celebrations need be done with all modesty, defeat need not blind one. the suspect had already lost his freedom for fanaticism. there are still matches to be won by man-u.
What a tragic story, what a waste of innocent life, and for what? Quite frankly questions like weather Messi or Ronaldo is better, weather the Premiership is better or worse than La Ligue pale into insignificance compared to this. How tragic that somebody should be so disturbed as to commit an act like this because of a FOOTBALL MATCH?
hanuman340 #153 "this prove mu fans are idiots" I don't know if you go to college but if you do you'll realise that one incident cannot be generalised to the millions of mu supporters around the world, unless you're one of those blinded by hatred to mu or for that matter to any other teams apart from your supported team. This blog has bred hatred across the globe instead of bringing us together. We should be able to discuss football as civilised people. But then again civilisation may not be in some people's mind. In the past I could easily spend an evening with friends who support other teams with the worst possible consequence of losing a few quids for buying a drink or two if your team lost. Now the bantering is eerily scary not to mention vulgarity. Oh for the good old days when football was a game to be enjoyed.
