FA Cup - Pienaar: Chelsea 'only human'

Everton have nothing to fear from Chelsea in Saturday's FA Cup final because they are "only human", winger Steven Pienaar said.

Pienaar is expected to play in the Wembley showcase after recovering from a hamstring problem he picked up at Fulham on the last day of the Premier League season.

"The belief is there that we can (win) because we are playing against 11 human beings at the end of the day," the South African international said.

Everton are just as much the underdogs as they were in their last FA Cup final in 1995 when they upset Manchester United 1-0.

"It is Chelsea and they are a great team with good players everywhere, but nothing is impossible," Pienaar added.

"Chelsea have good all round players and it will be tough but we just want to play the game and see what happens."

Everton beat Liverpool and Manchester United on the way to the final, meaning that if they defeat Chelsea on Saturday they will have overcome the top three sides in the Premier League to lift the trophy.

"Each and every FA Cup game this season we have put a double shift in and we hope we will do the same in the final but it will be tough because they are one of the best teams in England," Pienaar said.

  1. In my opinion, Chelsea is the team to beat under Guus!­ I just hope they don't throw away chances like Man­ U did against Barca. Chelsea would have won the­ premiership, though, had they have Guus starting the­ season with them.

    Although, I don't write off­ Everton, I still in my heart of hearts see Chelsea win­ may 2-1!

Chelsea played Everton at Stamford Bridge only a few­ weeks ago and couldn`t beat them, so what has changed ?­ Whoever wins the cup will be deserving winners, but it­ is ridiculous to write off Everton`s chances. Their cup­ credentials this season are second to none , Chelsea­ are NOT the best team in England let alone Europe . If­ they were they would have won the Premiership and the­ Champions League !!   5. chelsea are a machine so they arent human. under­ hiddink they are probably the best and strongest side­ in the world. barca looked average against them.

    play­ a 4-4-2 and we'll win.always play a 4-3-3 and with­ everton having a very organised defence so the extra­ midfield player is useless. simple manage ment skills­ solve this so I hope hiddink doesnt just want to play­ safe in his last game.

  7. Barcelona are the best side in Europe at the moment and­ thoroughly deserved their win. I don't think­ Chelsea will have an eay ride against Everton.­ Don't forget they failed to win in either of the­ league games against us.

  10. chelsea will be to good for them . they are not man u­ or liverpool . man u are sh.......t they did nothing­ agynst barca wich chelsea over two legs in spain and­ here was the better team and deserved to be there in­ the final not them spanish @#$%
