Blues stopper Carlo on Rovers' radar

Sat 28 Jun, 02:15 PM

New Blackburn manager Paul Ince is reportedly keen to make Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini his first signing at Ewood Park.Ince is tracking the 34-year-old Italian who has been forced to play second fiddle to Petr Cech at Stamford Bridge for the last four seasons.

Ince is said to be keen to put pressure on 38-year-old Brad Friedel in the Blackburn goal and sees Cudicini, who featured 18 times for the Blues last season, as an ideal rival for the number one jersey.

It is not known what sort of the fee the Italian could command but after eight seasons at Stamford Bridge, he may now feel the time is right to leave the Blues.
