Notts County new boy Adam Nowland is keen to repay the faith shown in him by his Magpies manager Ian McParland.McParland worked with the 26-year-old at Nottingham Forest and has signed Nowland following his release by Preston.

"I enjoyed being coached by the boss when we were at Forest and we kept in touch after I left," Nowland told County's official website.

"We have the same kind of beliefs about the way football should be played and I am keen to repay the faith he has shown in offering me a contract.

"I have had a break from the game after a difficult time at Preston and feel refreshed and ready for the challenge.

"Notts County are a massive club and my aim is to earn a pace in the side and prove a point to a few people."
