Bayern Munich sporting director Christian Nerlinger has spoken out amid suggestions that Franck Ribery is unsatisfied at the club and may be tempted by offers from Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Nerlinger has made no secret of his ambition to retain the services of star player Ribery, currently being courted by several top European clubs.
There are also rumours that Chelsea and Manchester United are considering making a bid to bring him to the Premier League.
Nerlinger has countered these rumours by claiming he will make every effort to bring Bayern Munich up to the standard of European heavyweights in order to satisfy Ribery's desires to play at the highest echelons of the sport.
"We have got to provide Franck with the perspective of being on the same level as Europe's elite," he said. "That is what he wants and then he will be happy in Munich."
These bold claims come following a flurry of transfer activity from Bayern. New coach Louis Van Gaal already has Mario Gomez and Anatoliy Tymoschuck at his disposal for next season, the former signed from Stuttgart for 30 million euros.
Nerlinger however recognises more spending may will be needed in order to keep Ribery.
"In the mid-term, we will have very, very positive conditions here," he added in the Bild am Sonntag newspaper. "We have got to offer him a top European club."
All this comes in spite of new transfer adviser Zinedine Zidane exerting his authority in an apparent attempt to convince Bayern to part with Ribery.

Definitely Zidane and Ribery have a lot in common. They play almost the same type of football as well as they are french which may mean that Ribery might be slanting towards Madrid. But i've no idea how the manager will handle all these stars and make them get along with each other.
