Fame And Glory romped to a five-length victory in the Irish Derby at The Curragh to give trainer Aidan O'Brien a record seventh success in the race.
Ridden by Johnny Murtagh (pictured), the 8-11 favourite took up the running from stable companion Golden Sword (11-1) with 300 metres left and blazed away to capture yet another Irish classic for the all-conquering O'Brien.
Third place in the 11-strong field went to the Aga Khan's Mourayan (8-1), ridden by Mick Kinane for trainer John Oxx.
Kinane was to have ridden his Epsom Derby winner Sea The Stars for Oxx but the colt was withdrawn because of the soft ground.
Fame And Glory, beaten readily by Sea The Stars into second place at Epsom, took full advantage of his rival's absence to give Murtagh his third Irish Derby success.
Sea The Stars has been re-routed to Saturday's Eclipse Stakes at England's Sandown Park and is the 5-4 favourite.
Fame And Glory's odds for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp in October have been cut from 12-1 to 6-1 with Sea The Stars still favourite at 4-1.
