Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen has revealed that a return to the familiar surroundings of the Premier League is 'probably inevitable.'
A likely destination for the Iceland international is West Ham United, managed by Gudjohnsen's one-time Chelsea team-mate Gianfranco Zola.
Gudjohnsen himself has hinted that he would be in favour of a return to England and said "There is a lot of interest from the Premier League."
"I had a great time with Chelsea and Gianfranco and I know the game inside out. I know I would adapt easily to the football there."
The fact that the Hammers are owned by an Icelandic asset management group lends further credibility to the 30-year-old moving to Upton Park.
However both Portsmouth and Fulham could also be in the hunt for Gudjohnsen's services once the former's ownership has been resolved and the latter's Europa League campaign plans become apparent.

Apparently Villa are also tracking Eidur, and I for one would love to see him at Villa Park! When he left Chelsea I always thought we should have tried to get our hands on him, and while it's a few years later, I think the experience which he's gained would be valuable in helping to guide Villa to the Champions League! Up the Villa!!!
