Serie A - Cordoba: Milan 'half a team' without Kaka

Eurosport - Sun, 28 Jun 16:01:00 2009

Internazionale defender Ivan Cordoba has criticised his club's city rivals Milan over their decision to sell Kaka.

The Colombian's remarks relate to Milan's sale of the Brazil international (pictured) to Real Madrid for £59 million and the negative effect he believes it will have on the team.

"Milan will miss Kaka. We will see how the Rossoneri react to his departure. Sure, the sensation is Milan will miss half a team," said Cordoba.

Although the colossal fee will undoubtedly prove useful for the Italian team, reports suggest it will be saved rather than spent. It is yet to be seen how Milan will replace their star midfielder after his departure earlier in the month.

Cordoba is certainly not the first player in the series to criticise Milan for the sale, with Nerazzurro goalkeeper Julio Cesar even thanking them for increasing his own team's strength through the money-motivated move.

Cesar, who is currently in South Africa with Kaka at the Confederations Cup, said earlier in the month of the transfer: "It is especially good news for Inter, without him it will be easier for us to win."
