Cristiano Ronaldo has completed his £80 million world record transfer to Real Madrid, signing a six-year contract.
"Real Madrid and Manchester United have signed the final agreement for the transfer of the rights of the player Cristiano Ronaldo effective July 1," the Spanish club said.
"The player will remain at Real Madrid for the next six seasons and will be presented on July 6 at the Bernabeu stadium," a statement read.
Portugal international Ronaldo, the World Footballer of the Year, becomes the third confirmed signing under new Real president Florentino Perez, who has returned to the club pledging to create a "spectacular sporting project".
Perez spent around 67 million euros on AC Milan's Brazilian playmaker Kaka and has also brought in Spain defender Raul Albiol from Valencia for a reported fee of 15 million euros.
Real and Ronaldo's representatives had been negotiating personal terms since United announced this month they had accepted the Madrid club's offer.
There were no details of the agreement in the Real statement. Spanish media have reported that Ronaldo will earn around 13 million euros per season.

Ronaldo, I won't thank you for what you've done to United.. you brought shame to United, know that? running and when someone tackles you, you acted like someone fired your leg. So, I hope you didn't succeed like what you've predicted in Madrid and I hope you end much worse than Beckham.
probabily ronald has been afantastic player, thats ok bt this does not mean that, his leaving has affected MAN.U as aclub or is the end not at all.Man.u still have good and promising players and they'll alwayz be there and is still winning trophs.
oabdulgani. What do you know about being a Man U fan? I'm glad he's gone because he was in danger of becoming more important than the club in his eyes. We'll miss his goals but we won't miss him sat on his backside crying over a free kick he didn't get, while the opposition attack our goal. Ron wants to be the best player in the world, Man Utd fans want players who want to be part of the best team in the world. There's a difference. Any true Man U fan will say the same.
TO jossaste_83: you don't f***ing underestimate such a fantastic player and i should say that Berbatov can't play 5% of what Ronaldo can. Look at the statistics for the last season and u will see how many goals difference there is between Ronaldo and Berbatov, and also look at the minutes each player has played that all talks for itself.
so long you ugly stuped underwear model!!!! BERBATOV IS A LOT BETTER THAN YOU!!!! YOU'LL SEE THIS YEAR BARCELONA WILL KICK YOUR A''
ferewell moron7... theres only one ronaldo... but he's wearing number 9 not 7... lol
when ronaldo with MU..i hate him bcoz of MU..but now..i'll be watching him as a world class player by it own hard works..its not bcoz of that fergie...fergie is nothing without the players...good luck Ronaldo..
This transfer has not only caused a power-shift from Manchester to Madrid, but it has also caused a major shift in power from EPL to La Liga.
Any Manchester United fan who tells you that they are glad Ronaldo has left is a liar. Either that or they are in denial. United got £80m for Ronaldo - so what??? What's money when a player's skills on the football pitch are priceless! Ronaldo has been OUTSTANDING for three seasons, and without him, United would not have won the Championships or the European Cup. £80 is nothing if a player is that good. Real Madrid will be feeling very pleased about the deal.
Also, the £80m price tag has raised all the other top players prices around the world, which means United will have to spend more in order to get the best and most suited replacements for Ronaldo. United have been well and truly done.
I find myself agreeing with the comment fom "Wayne" Change the story for goodness sake. He is gone and moved on; it is time for us to move on unless of course you guys have nothing else to report on.................
come on yahoo change the fu**in story iam pissed off with this ronaldo transfer news now!!
So the spoilt little brat has gone on a day when the headlines were all about Michael Jackson, I bet that annoyed Ronaldo (R.I.P Michael the true king of pop and massive loss to the world of entertainment),
Good riddance to Ronaldo's arrogance, brilliant player made by man utd, now lets see how he fairs without the guidance of Ferguson my guess is that his career will go downhill.
At Madrid how will he handle the pressure of being compared to the best player in the world Messi? It will happen every week playing in the same league together, he buckled in the champion’s league final so let’s see he fairs under the same pressure week in week out. Not to mention the pressure of justifying his £80 price tag, Madrid will want immediate returns and the world will expect miraculous football from him. Sorry Ronaldo bad move mate you are about to find out that the grass is not always greener elsewhere.
R.I.P Michael Jackson :o(
@ getachew44, I'm sorry what I said about you, I did not mean to say that about you. You are a madrid fan too, and I respect you, eventhough you love barcelona more, I still will show respect. I just lost it for a second, because you used to be a madrid fan, and now you are a barcelona fan too, but I understand, barcelona is the best team in the world now.
getachew144 you talk @#$% kid. STFU man ...
Ronaldo you made a mistake ... Man Utd made you who you are now, leaving is only going to drop your standards as a human being down to the lowest...Time will tell... Man Utd gained out of this deal ... Bye Bye Ronaldo .
to getachew44 go milk your TRUE mum and dad
@ zeray g, no I'm not, I have a Catalan mother, and is a Barcelona fan, but I also have a Madrid father, and I love both clubs, but I love Barca a little more, because I used to be a Barca fan befor I was a madrid fan.
@ zeray g, quit acting like you are me, and go get a life.
to Raimo
i'm the true getachew44
all that was not me
to Raimo k
i'm your mate g44
all that its not me
ronaldo is the best
ronaldo will stay at madrid win or lose , , he left united for a losing and worse team , , not for money but for a club he loved as a boy , , he always said it is his dream to play there , , he has kept quiet this year meaning he learnt from last sumer , , who are any of us to deny him his boyhood dream , ,he served us well mostly so i say best of luck ronny , hope we get ye in the champions league and whip yes :-)
