Cristiano Ronaldo has completed his £80 million world record transfer to Real Madrid, signing a six-year contract.
"Real Madrid and Manchester United have signed the final agreement for the transfer of the rights of the player Cristiano Ronaldo effective July 1," the Spanish club said.
"The player will remain at Real Madrid for the next six seasons and will be presented on July 6 at the Bernabeu stadium," a statement read.
Portugal international Ronaldo, the World Footballer of the Year, becomes the third confirmed signing under new Real president Florentino Perez, who has returned to the club pledging to create a "spectacular sporting project".
Perez spent around 67 million euros on AC Milan's Brazilian playmaker Kaka and has also brought in Spain defender Raul Albiol from Valencia for a reported fee of 15 million euros.
Real and Ronaldo's representatives had been negotiating personal terms since United announced this month they had accepted the Madrid club's offer.
There were no details of the agreement in the Real statement. Spanish media have reported that Ronaldo will earn around 13 million euros per season.

No I'm not a disgrace. My mother is Catalan and my father is from Madrid. I have been a fan of both teams. Now I live in Madrid, and I realy like madrid but Barcelona are a better team and I'm suporting Barcelona more, but I still want madrid to do good.
just f**k off and live your life
getachew, you're a disgrace to both Real Madrid and Barcelona fans. Stop supporting either and support Man City.
I don't know which team I should choose. I used to be a Barcelona Fan, than I switched to Madrid fan, but now that Barcelona are the best team in the world, now I love them, but now Madrid bought kaka and ronaldo, and Barcelona had Messi, Iniesta, Eto'o, Xavi, Henry, I really don't know which team I should support. I have been a Madrid fan for a while, but I have been a Barcelona fan in my heart.
getachew44 you are not a fan you are a 'glory hunter' you choose barcelona because of the way they play and now Ronaldo and other stars have joined madrid you want to switch to them
to getachew44, what is going on with you???
good ronaldo gone now man u get soom great players like eto'o, villa, silva, valenca, nilmar and valdes
OK!!! ronaldo said he knew he was going to madrid well he's gone!! manu got £80 million pounds so now what we should say is thank you!!! and move on!!!
ronaldo iz a @#$%
God, my head is spinning, I don't know which team to choose, one hand I'm a Madrid fan, but on the other hand, I'm a Barcelona fan, how can someone not be a Barcelona fan with the way Barcelona plays and they players they have, I only wish madrid had players like Barcelona.
Sorry Barca Fans, I did not mean to say that about MESSI and INIESTA and BARCELONA. I'm a person with two minds, one I'm a Madrid fan, and two, I'm a Barca Fan.
to all madridista big sorry!
comment #4 is not me. it is my catalan mum
for me barca and messi = HIV and AIDS
I hate barca
again i realy sorry
madrid is in my blood
madrid for ever
i may prefer to die than to change my team
HALA MADRID
If I was Madrid, I would have bought Messi instead of Ronaldo, because he is younger, and way better than Ronaldo, and he is a better team player, he scores a lot of goals, and gives a lot of assists, unlike Ronaldo, who is kind of selfish. I also would have bought Iniest instead of Kaka, because he is better than Kaka and younger too. This way we would have made Barcelona weaker. But on the other hand, Madrid would not afford to buy Messi and Iniesta as they are the two best players, and they love Barcelona, and they would not leave the best club in the world. God, I really wished they came to Madrid, but I guess it's just going to be a dream. I hope Madrid buys more players, because if they don't buy more, Madrid will never be able to compeet with Barcelona.
to me i see a shemail!!
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. HE WILL NOT BE MOVING TO ACCRINGTON STANLEY. WE ARE KNEW IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.
ronaldo will be hit in the spanish league next season.
ronaldo his only as good as the players that support him no balls no goals good luck give him twelve months he will be looking for transfer rafferty
I think Ronaldo is a good player.......but no worth what they paid for him! But it's OK, Madrid needed to stand from their ashes....so they always try to cover-up by spending more than they can afford to try to pretend that they are still rich and powerful.
who the hell wants ronaldo or kaka on their shirt anyway?
Other mens names on your shirt.....so gay!!
Real will make lots of money from queers
Nice to see all you queers voting this down.
Do you support a team or do you just watch football for their legs?
@#$%!!
To me, Rooney is the key to united success not Ronaldo cos of Rooney's unselfish contribution to the team. If Rooney is selfish like Ronaldo, then he will find it difficult to score 10 goals in a season. Good player though, need to respect those wonderful guyz suppling the goals e.g WAYNE ROONEY, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Fletcher......
