World number three Andy Murray produced another sterling display to beat Serbia's Viktor Troicki 6-2 6-3 6-4 and book his place in the fourth round at Wimbledon.
Murray delivered a masterclass from start to finish and will next face Swiss 19th seed Stanislas Wawrinka, who came from a set down to beat American Jesse Levine 5-7 7-5 6-3 6-3.
Murray got off to a steady start but took control of the match in the sixth game, breaking when Troicki slapped down two double faults.
The Scot then broke again two games later to seal the first set when his opponent dumped the ball into the net.
The second set was equally one-sided as Murray broke in just the second game, with a running backhand passing shot, to seize control before taking a two sets to love lead with his 11th and 12th aces of the match.
Troicki offered a little more resistance in the third set but the Serb was always playing catch up after slapping a forehand into the net to concede serve in the first game.
Troicki even held his first, and only, break point of the match in the fourth game but Murray quickly slammed the door shut with an ace and a forehand winner. The Scot threatened again in the seventh and ninth games and Troicki did well to hold on.
But there was nothing he could do when Murray stepped up to serve out the match and the 22-year-old emphatically booked his place in the second week with an ace down the centre of the court.
Murray's performances over the last two years, which have propelled him into the world's top three, have made him a household name in Britain and expectation is building that he can become the nation's latest sporting hero.
Four more performances of the quality he has shown so far would take him tantalisingly close to becoming the first British man to win Wimbledon since Fred Perry 73 years ago but Murray, as always, is taking it all in his stride.
"I'm very happy I won the three matches this week," said Murray. "I hope that I can keep it going next week because my performances were pretty solid."
"(The expectation) is just one of those things you have to get used to dealing with. It hasn't troubled me this week. I'd be very surprised if it did next week."
"I wanted to finish the match as quickly as possible," he added. "It would have been a nice bit of history, I guess, the first match to play under the roof but I wasn't that worried."
"I enjoy playing indoors. But when it's sort of right at the end of the match I wanted to finish it before the rain came."

Hi Rc,i posted on an earlier forum saying that i thought Lleyton was going on a tear, and i still think so,i have massive respect for Hewitt and what he has done in the game,i think Andy has too much game for him now.Lleyton would def make it competitive, but winning is a big ask, would make a nice match up,hope it happens.
Stuart,Karlovic IS a real danger here, beating him usually means tie breaks, and that means anything can happen.I was at a match e few years ago when Fed played him on court 1,and two of those sets were tie breaks,Fed came through, but it was tight.Verdasco has the tools to come through his encounter with the giant, but he will have to be patient,if he does ,he will be doing Fed a massive favour.cheers chaps.
MURRAY HAS A HARD DRAW, DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH!!!

Hi Carlos I agree with everything you say, but do not under estimate a Hewitt playing as well, as or almost as well as ever, he is on a mission. And don't forget Carlos he's been there before, bought the t shirt along with the shop! Best regards...
Hi Carlos I completely agree with your comments. Federers draw is not looking easy. I hope for the sake of tennis someone beats Karlovic soon.
I have to concede,i was thinking Andy would make the semis here, and that i thought would be a decent result, improving on last year, however, seeing how weak his side of the draw is ,anything but a final showing will not go down too well.He has been a little fortunate with Nadal Del Potro and now Gonzo not in his half.Wawrinka should give him a game, but i dont see Roddick or as much as i like him,Hewitt giving him too many problems.Federer in comparison has a nightmare draw,Soderling, possibly Karlovic and then Djoko, just to get to the final. He will need to be at his best to be in the final.
BOO HOO HE BEAT TROICKI!!!
bespokecarpentry - In jock land all capentry is bespoke, cos the junkies burn the @#$% out of everything.
england is a kazi
My main argument is that all the gushing praise Murray's getting is misplaced. you have to play a contender and beat him to start deserving that. Murray cannot play a seroius contender for the title until the final. If he doesn't get to the final it's a major flop for him in my opinion
Ace firs serve No 287 what planet are you on. When were Hewitt, Ferrero or Roddick last in the quarter let alone semis of any grand slam. Soderling ,Federer's next opponent was in the French Open final only a month ago, Djokovic has a grand slam title and was in the final at Halle grass court tournament which Haas won only 3 weeks ago and all in Federer's half of the draw. Where were Hewitt, Ferrero at Queens, although Rodddick was injured?
Can you idiots who keep sending posts re playstations and i pods desist, we have received enough posts already, and if we wanted to sign up would have done so already. I appreciate we all need to earn some money, but surely one post is enough!!!
Re the agument of Murray's draw, I agree you can only play who turns up, but let us wait and see if he does win whether his victory is tainted by the same argument that greeted Federer's triumph in the French.... well it doesn't really count because Nadal was not there!! Be interesting to see if Castle, Lloyd et al voice that opinion against murray's title, or discuss the relative ease of his draw, because Federer only won the Milan open beacuse he had an easy draw and Nadal had had an epic match against Djovic the day before. I am not a supporter of federer, but will be interesting to see the media response. I like Murray's game but have grown immensley tired of the over hyped hyperbole of tv commentators who even when commentating on other matches still talk about Murray.
I heard that the special witchdoctor is doing the universal abyss voodoo doll muthi magic on Murray..
I thinks a slip in the 3 matches...
