Australia legend Shane Warne has continued his feud with Paul Collingwood, slating the Durham all-rounder's captaincy of England in the World Twenty20.
The pair have been at loggerheads since Warne questioned whether Collingwood deserved an MBE for his part in England's 2005 Ashes triumph. Andrew Strauss will resume skipper's duties from Collingwood for this summer's Ashes series after sitting out the Twenty20 but, with the first Test due to get under way in Cardiff on July 8, Warne has stoked up the fires again by having another dig.
Asked by Radio Five Live's Sportsweek whether Australia would be more fearful of a Kevin Pietersen-led England, Warne replied: "I think they'll be wishing Paul Collingwood was captain because I don't think he was very good at all."
He added: "I think England will be looking forward to having Andrew Strauss back at the helm.
"I was pretty disappointed, I think everyone was, with Collingwood's captaincy in the England side during the Twenty20.
"There was no imagination, no flair... I think he was too busy trying to drive his Aston Martin and fly around in helicopters (rather) than trying to work on his captaincy."
Warne reckons Pietersen, his former Hampshire colleague who quit as England skipper in January, will not be worrying too much about not being captain for the Ashes series.
"England can't win if they don't have Kevin Pietersen in their side," said the spin king.
"They need him fit, they need him raring to go and hungry for success. I don't think it matters to Kevin whether he's captain or not.
"He'll be out there trying to prove a point, trying to stamp his authority early on in the series and trying to promote himself up to be the best batsman in the world. He's got the ability to do that."

Itīs not a comment on this article, but I canīt find anywhere appropriate: where can I find the county cricket league tables? Thanks anyone. John faraway.
As they say Warnie, the truth hurts. Every person is entitled to a comment, warnies comments have been critisized before, an they will be again in the future, I dont think he cares to much about what people think. Another good point he has raised above is that England cant win without Peitersen, what a sorry state of affairs cricket here is in, if we only have a one man team, which in fact is the case.
remember Warne bleating on tv when the England fans gave him some stick during the ashes (warnie, wheres your missus gone?) One hell of of a cricketer but grow old with some dignity you were lucky to keep playing with all the scandals that surrounded you.

Hahaha it's nice to see the sledging has started already. I actually think that Warney has a point about the 20/20 moreso as i always thought that we should have batted 2nd against the W Indies i do believe not doing that was a big mistake, surely the forecast would have made England want to bat 2nd. As for the forthcoming series i'm just hoping that Freddie can perform with the bat as he showed the other day,he still has talent, maybe open the bowling with Anderson and Broad and have fred first change. Depending on the pitch at Sophia Gardens (which is usually a slow pitch) should depend on 1 or 2 spinners,Swann obviously probably panesar but england like to bat to 11 so probably will be Rashid just because he's a better bat. England have a good nucleus of players and i think they are better, more organised at test level than the one dayers. My prediction is England to win 2-1
Give it up Warnie, your a has been. Your good at the game but now, your finished !
i just hope we dont see warne commenting on tv
SHUT UP BALDY
Warne should stick to Aussie probelems and leave England to thier own . Although in this case I actually agree
Shane Warne is a has been, who just wants to keep on seeing his name in the papers. Every word he says should be treated with total disdain. Unless, of course, he starts predicting another 5-0 whitewash for the Aussies. Then we should remember every word he says. So that we can ALL throw it back into his face.
I'm sure Colly can treat Mr Warne with all the respect he dosn't deserve.
I just wish Warne would keep his stupid opinions to himself. He's not in the team but he is still trying to wind up England.
It's rubbish to say that 'need' Pietersen, they have managed ok whilst he has been injured and he hasn't done much recently in any case!
