Ipswich manager Jim Magilton is in confident mood after seeing his side emerge victorious against Premier League newboys West Brom on Saturday. The Blues came from behind at Portman Road to win 2-1 thanks to a Tommy Miller penalty and a winning strike from newboy Kevin Lisbie.
"Obviously the result is important but at this stage of pre-season, it's all about getting the miles into the players," Magilton told the club's official website.
"I was delighted with the application and attitude of the players. It was first class and the game is a stepping stone to August 9 and Preston.
"We probably had the better of the two refereeing decisions but we passed the ball well against a Premier League team.
"Tommy Smith will be all the better for 90 minutes against that class opposition and we have come through the game with no injuries I think."
