Bradford City new boy Michael Boulding claims signing for Cheltenham would have been the 'biggest mistake' of his career.Cheltenham thought they had sealed a deal for the former Mansfield striker last week, but Boulding instead opted for a move to Valley Parade.
Boulding, 32, cited the gulf in ambition between the two clubs as the reason for his decision.
"We just went down to Cheltenham to speak to them as a courtesy thing. It would have been the biggest mistake in my career if I'd gone to that club," he told the Telegraph and Argus. "This club is moving forwards and has got so much potential. No disrespect to Cheltenham, who are a very well run club, but the ambition levels are not there at all.
"The only thing I was looking at with Cheltenham was that they were in League One, but that was all. The only reason this has all dragged on a bit is that I did want to play in League One.
"I would never ever have signed for another club in League Two other than Bradford. I never had any intention of going anywhere else."
