Fabregas: My future is with Arsenal

Mon 28 Jul, 01:45 PM

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas insists his future is at the Emirates Stadium and has denied discussing a future transfer to Real Madrid.A weekend report in Spanish sports newspaper Marca quoted Fabregas as hinting he might consider a future move to the Bernabeu, particularly if Arsenal miss out on a trophy in the new season.

Fabregas helped Spain win Euro 2008, playing an increasingly prominent role for the champions during the tournament.

But the Spain international has denied discussing any long-term transfer plans as he prepares to bring his summer holiday to an end, and stressed he remains motivated with his current club.

"I have not spoken to any media so it's frustrating to read quotes that I have supposedly said about my future," said the 21-year-old.

"I have spent the summer relaxing with my family, friends and girlfriend and I return to training with Arsenal on Tuesday.

"I think that some people are just trying to make mischief but my intentions are very clear.

"I am happy here at Arsenal, my future is with Arsenal and the priority is to achieve success and win trophies at Arsenal."

  3. Fabregas is AWESOME!
A month ago he was actually interviewed...not made up quotes, but a real video clip where he said that he did not approve of the way Barca and Madrid do their shady transfer business by unsettling players to lower their price and force a move (like they are doing to CR7 every day this summer). Coming from a kid who grew up Barca through and through this took some real guts and maturity. I think he is one of the best up and coming players in the world and he has a wonderfully level head on his shoulders...what a combo (especially these days). I sincerely hope Arsenal not only hold onto this gem, but bolster the side to make him the legend he can be. Great form young Fabregas!!!

  5. Its about time the media were forced to stop making " guess" predictions and getting away with it. This applies not only to sport but all aspects of rporting,it is difficult to separate conjecture and lies from the truth. TO THE PRESS shut up if you do not know!

  6. readin this i realised the british media is full of ****heads... i mean, all of the players that left arsenal or remained here always responded to the things they were supposed to have said and that makes me happy, because i realise we have good players ( speaking of conduit)

  7. Flamini, Hlep and Adebayor should borrow a leaf from Fabregas. I wish him trophies-ful seasons with Arsenal.

  8. Is this the same pledge that Hleb and Flamini and Adebayor gave.If Milan had come up with the reddies he wouldn't be there either.Arsenal play attractive football until they get to the penalty area, and rather than shoot they want to score the perfect goal. This is and will continue to be their downfall..

  10. This young star has made his mind to stay in his club even if they came out trophyless last season and i think he has more ambitions and hope Adebayo would so follow his sentiments.

  11. Well Cliff, I think Adebayor is hopeless.
Adebayor only performed well in one season.
Look at Fabregas, he replaced Vieira four years ago. He performed and served Arsenal well for four years, but he did not as arrogant or created so many troubles as Adebayor.
I bet Adebayor won't come out and state anything at all.

  12. How refreshing to see a player come out and state emphatically that he has loyalty to his club, hope Adebayor etc are taking note!!

  13. Young star, dont mind the press, they only want to divert your attention. Keep concentrating on arsenal and you will turn out to be the greatest player in the world.
