Bury boss Alan Knill is seeking an improvement against Sheffield United on Tuesday after losing 2-0 to their city rivals Sheffield Wednesday.A second-half double from Owls forward Leon Clarke condemned the Shakers to their first pre-season defeat on Saturday.
Knill is now aiming for an improvement when the Blades make the trip across the Pennines to Gigg Lane.
Knill - who has offered one-year deals to trialists Danny Racchi and Mike Jones - said: "It'll be a big test and we're not expecting to beat them but we want to compete in every game.
"It's about performing better than we did on Saturday and putting into place the things we work on every day in training."
