Swansea boss Roberto Martinez has reacted angrily to claims by Wales manager John Toshack that his side won't cope in the Championship.Former Real Madrid manager Toshack criticised Martinez's squad last week - insisting they will struggle to adapt to the step up in quality from League One, but Martinez has now moved to emphatically reject the claims.
"What John Toshack said is true - we don't have that experience at Championship level," Martinez told the club's official website.
"But I would rather have it that way. This football club is going forward with a new stadium and hungry players trying to reach the dream of the Premier League," he told the club's official website.
"We do not have the experience and he is right when he says it will be very, very tough, but we can also show we are good enough that we don't have to rely on experience.
"I am happy with my squad but the challenge is now to be competitive in the Championship. We are looking long-term with a young squad hungry for success. If I had to make a choice between experience in the short-term and what I've got now, I'd pick the latter."
