Youngster Sam Trickett continued his hot run of form by winning the sixth leg of the UK Poker Tour in Luton.
Following on from a final table appearance at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, the 22-year-old from Nottingham defeated 375 opponents, including former England football international Teddy Sheringham, over four days to win the £106,000 first prize and a seat in the tour's £3,000 Grand Final.
Trickett had also won over £130,000 when he finished fourth at the WSOP No Limit Hold'em Six Handed event in Nevada just a few weeks earlier.
He said: "It's took me a while to get on my feet as I'm more of a cash player than in competitions because you need a lot of luck. But it's really paid off with three big cashes in the last eight weeks. It's going good for me at the minute.
"I'm not going to go willy nilly into buying into big events as we all know you can go a long way in competitions without cashing. I'm definitely going to invest some in some form of property."
Trickett began the nine-man final table in second place on chip count with 556,000, behind leader David La Ronde (751,000). Martin Jarvis, James Mitchell, Stuart Rutter, Martin Green, top darts pro Wayne Mardle and Andreas Mlhail were closely packed behind with Peter Arrigoni short stacked.
Arrigoni manged to double up on a few occasions and lasted to the dinner break by which time Mlhail, Rutter and Mardle has been sent packing by Mitchell, Trickett and La Ronde respectively.
Laronde then took out Arrigoni to cement his commanding chip lead but by the time Mitchell cleaned out Green, the leading trio all had just over a million chips.
Jarvis finished fourth after he went All-in with eight, nine against the Ace, King of LaRonde who then hits trips on the turn while Mitchell exited in third place for £45,100 when he couldn't get past Trickett's pocket sixes.
After six hours of play, it was down to online qualifier La Ronde and qualifed gas engineer Trickett but their heads-up only lasted one hand.
La Ronde called from the button and Trickett raised 130k only to be re-raised to 260k before Trickett announced All-In and was called by La Ronde.
All the chips were in the middle pre-flop and an Ace and Queen on the flop followed by a two on the turn ruled out any chances of a draw.
Trickett became the youngest winner in UK Poker Tour history as his Ace, Queen held up against La Ronde's Ace, Seven.
The tour now moves on to Bolton for the seventh leg next month.
