Sunderland have rejected a bid from Portsmouth for defender Nyron Nosworthy, Press Association Sport understands.
The Hampshire side are in the market for a defender, with 31-year-old Sylvain Distin set to complete a move to Everton.
However, Sunderland were unimpressed by Pompey's valuation of 28-year-old Nosworthy - a free transfer signing from Gillingham four years ago.

I wont say I told you so, if I am proven wrong I will be the first to admit i was wrong. LIke i have said on the otherpages Watch the videos of last season and you will see who is the better keeper. also if you read a lot of thoe other S/alnd fans posts they seem to agree with my opinion that Gordon is not our best Keeper.
MALC:M D: You must be crazy if you think David 'Calamity' Nintendo James is better than Gordon, and he certainly isn't worth two players! I'd rather put a decent defence in front of Gordon than lose him - and Ferdi may make mistakes, but he's still young - and he will improve under Bruce/Black of that I'm certain!
If you want to get rid of someone how about Collins/McCartney/Healy? If any of them were worth anything!
Good! I don't want Nosworthy to leave...good player, him....Definitely don't want Ferdinand to go either...
Sell Gordon and Ferdinand to Pompey in exchange for David James????? now theres a thought!!!!!!
Sell them Ferdinand ,he is @#$% Nolsworthy is better so keep him
would rather nos went than danny
GOOD, we need defenders, so lets not sell any!!!!!!
