@163 Araoye Adedapo. This comment is solely for you. I­ remember Nigeria, Argentina, South Korea and Greece­ being in the same group. I also remembered that­ Argentina beat Nigeria 1-0, beat Greece 4-0 and beat­ S.korea 2-0. I know that Messi did not score in any of­ the matches and also not in a match that Argentina won­ 6-0 or probably you wish he did, but the fact is he did­ not. Please do check your facts and prove otherwise if­ I am wrong

messi has a world cup goal. get that right. he scored­ it in argentina's 6-0 win at the 2010 world cup. go­ and check the records. even though i'm a big­ ronaldo fan we have 2 say the truth.

The fact that we are talking of Messi and Cristiano­ Ronaldo means we are talking of the greatest athletes­ of our time! They are good footballers and there's­ no fuss about it. Messi having made 1267passes, in my opinion, has to­ do with the way Barcelona play football. Their ball­ possession is usually around 73% or even more, no­ matter whom they play. So do not rate both players as­ being either individualistic or not based on that­ statistic you have.

Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi­ are great footballers whom we are blessed to have play­ in our time. I personally prefer Cristiano but­ won't spend time arguing who is better amongst the­ two. It's useless!

for me both c ronaldo and messi are the best... both­ have some different special qualities... both are on­ tpo of the game...so respect for both players...but i­ love c ronaldo,,he,s simply amzing

Messi has played with the same people for over 10 years­ but Ronaldo goes to united where he didn't really­ know anyone but in the end turns out to be the best­ player theyv ever had ,then he goes to madrid different­ country different league different team but yet­ he's still scoring goals for fun ,,make your own­ minds up.

if you see yourself as a so good player, you should­ sometime take yourself elsewhere to prove a different­ thing.

@ samuel they both scored 35 goals, but don't­ forget Ronaldo needed 10 pks to reach this target while­ messi notted 2 or 3 maximum. so u can't compare­ only the number of goals, u need to look for the­ pks!

these figures are a month old., but­ still very valid, the number of passes made by Ronaldo­ in the 2011/2012 season is 824, where as Messi has made­ 1267 passes. Ronaldo is a more individualistic player­ compared to Messi, so whether he plays in barca or not,­ it wont effect his game hence having help from xavi­ and iniesta wouldnt help him much. But Messi is more of­ a team player, as he tries to make the team look good,­ but in doing so he looks good doing it. and so he­ scoring 35 goals is more impressive i should say than­ to ronaldo's 35, Still think Messi is the best in­ the world because his genuine humbleness allows him to­ keep improving, he doesn't feel like he is the best­ so he always improves to be better. Both brilliant­ footballers, But I would rather have Messi in my team­ than Ronaldo.

As a neutral Messi and ronaldo are on par with each­ other,Either one of them is better than the other in­ different area's
messi has more skill and flair­ better ball control and amazing awareness (maradonna­ like)

Messi is the best ever!!!!

It's wrong to call Messi the greatest ever­ footballer. Why? The era Pele and Maradona played in­ was when an opponent can slap the other player and­ deliberately injure him and play continues. So for Pele­ to score over 1000 goals it's not easy. 2. I wonder­ why you are comparing Messi and Ronaldo when they are­ both good and both have different qualities. I also­ believe politics is used in choosing the Fifa best­ player. We all know in a world cup year, the best­ player is chosen based on the performance in the world­ cup. How come Messi was given when he didn't play­ world or Uefa final? Think people think.
