West Bromwich Albion relinquished the last unbeaten record in the Championship, falling 1-0 against Crystal Palace at the Hawthorns.
The league leaders had no answer to Alassane N'Diaye's 63rd minute strike.
QPR comfortably beat Barnsley 5-2 at Loftus Road thanks to goals from Akos Buzsaky, Mikele Leigertwood, Ben Watson and Jay Simpson.
An Akos Buzsaky double following Mikele Leigertwood's early strike from distance looked to have put the game beyond Barnsley. However, the Hoops were almost pegged back following early second half strikes from Stephen Foster and Andy Gray, but goals from Watson and Simpson put the result beyond doubt.
Danny Graham's header salvaged Watford a 1-1 draw against Reading at the Madjeski Stadium following former Watford player Grzegorz Rasiak's early strike.
Middlesbrough let a two goal lead slip as they were held 2-2 at the Ricoh against Coventry. Rhys Williams pounced on indecision in the Sky Blues defence to put Boro two goals up following Sean St Ledger's header from a corner. But late strikes from Clinton Morrison and Leon Best secured a share of the spoils for the home side.
Hameur Bouazza's strike from distance coupled with Jason Euell's early header was enough for Blackpool as they beat Peterborough United 2-0 at Bloomfield Road.
Strikes from Neil Mellor and Richard Chaplow either side of half-time gave Preston a 2-1 victory over Leicester at the Walkers Stadium.
Cardiff fell to a 3-1 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough - Peter Whittingham cancelling out a fourth minute Etienne Esajas free-kick from the penalty spot, but Esajas turned provider for Luke Varney just after half-time before Leon Clark put the result beyond doubt.
Gary Teale's late strike sealed a 1-0 victory for Derby County at Pride Park against Bristol City.
Goals from Lee Trundle and Thomas Butler were enough for Swansea to secure a 2-1 victory over Sheffield United at the Liberty Stadium.

Form is temporary, Class is permanent.

Well Done Palace on your deserved Victory but why not consider why you have only managed to play like this against a "Scalp" team like WBA?
Were still 2nd and in a great position.
Boing Boing

At least we take losing on the chin, unlike the cheating low life warnock - should have had a life ban after what happened at Bramall Lane. He is still a disgrace.
well done palace
stop making excuses and talking utter @#$% west brom fans palace fully deserved this win and looked the much better team. Your position at the summit was false, teams like palace are as good as you are.
i think you will find it was west brom who were trying to thwart palace from passing the ball around, hence trying to bring palace down to their level
palace played better football and deserved the 3 points
