Leeds manager Simon Grayson has revealed contract talks with Jermaine Beckford are ongoing and that the striker could yet sign a new deal to stay at Elland Road next season.

Grayson was full of praise for Beckford after his brilliant two-goal display helped Leeds to a 4-0 victory at Bristol Rovers, where Sam Vokes scored his goal for the club and substitute Tresor Kandol added a fourth in the closing stages.

Grayson said: "We made a stance in the summer that he would be with us until the end of this season and his contract situation is ongoing."

He added: "If he signs a new one this season then everyone will be happy. And if he helps to get us promotion and then moves on we shall wish him well.

"Our strikers will get the headlines, but they need other players to provide the ammunition. I asked for a reaction to the Millwall defeat and certainly got it."

  2. Leeds are a better side this season and should get automatic promotion if they keep the season going as it as been,
They are a good side with a good manager in Simon Grayson and I feel that if he were to lead them into the Championship he would secure Beckford Snodgrass and the others because they could see what he is aiming for and thats a place back in the premiership
    Good Luck Leeds

  3. Dunno about last season but it just feels right at the mo that if we went up we would be more than capable of holding our own in the championship. Good, sound sqaud with winning on their minds, an energetic manager and an allround sense of pride again.......So dont fk it up....MOT

  4. It can only be good news that Grayson and for that matter BATES (I Hope) are talking to Beckford, we need him and everyone else to get LUFC out of this division, so BATES get him signed up for another few years, sure you can put a clause that should LUFC not gain promotion then he can go free of charge
