Leeds manager Simon Grayson revealed contract talks with Jermaine Beckford are on-going and that the striker could yet sign a new deal to stay at Elland Road next season.
Grayson was full of praise for Beckford after his brilliant two-goal display helped Leeds to a 4-0 victory at Bristol Rovers, where Sam Vokes scored his goal for the club and substitute Tresor Kandol added a fourth in the closing stages.
Grayson said: "Jermaine could have had four or five goals. He would be the first to admit he wasn't at his best against Millwall at the weekend, but in this game he was right back on song and showed his quality.
"We made a stance in the summer that he would be with us until the end of this season and his contract situation is ongoing.
"If he signs a new one this season then everyone will be happy. And if he helps to get us promotion and then moves on we shall wish him well.
"Our strikers will get the headlines, but they need other players to provide the ammunition. I asked for a reaction to the Millwall defeat and certainly got it."
