Top 14 - Racing Metro end Castres run
Castres' seven-match winning run in the Top 14 was brought to a shuddering halt by Racing Metro who registered a last-gasp 23-19 victory at the Stade Pierre-Antoine.
Fiji centre Verimi Vakatawa crossed the line with just three minutes remaining to settle the match - and inflict just a second defeat of the season on the three-times champions.
Vakatawa's 77th-minute try was converted by full-back Gaetan Germain as Racing ended a three-match losing streak.
Despite the defeat, Castres went top of the table courtesy of their losing bonus point, but they could be toppled when second-placed Clermont meet bottom club Biarritz on Saturday.
Racing jump up to fifth.
Racing fly-half Sebastien Descons scored a try in the 21st minute before lock Chris Masoe replied for Castres four minutes later and the teams went in level at 13-13 at the break.
Romain Teulet kicked Castres' remaining points, while Descons and Germain shared the kicking points for Racing.
