Stalemate at Central Park

Cowdenbeath and Alloa fought out a goalless draw at Central Park in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.

Both sides had chances in a hard fought-contest between two evenly matched teams but nothing could separate them and the tie will be decided in a replay on December 8.

Alloa goalkeeper David Crawford pulled off two good saves early on to thwart headers from Gareth Wardlaw and Scott McBride.

But then Cowdenbeath had a let off in the 13th minute when a Chris Townsley header was cleared off the line by Craig Winter.

After the interval the Fifers came closest to scoring with a great 30-yard effort from Wardlaw which Crawford clawed away to safety.

Wardlaw then fizzed in a 18-yard drive but Crawford was once again equal to the task and the game ended all-square.
