Colchester goalkeeper Aidan Davison admits his side need a more ruthless streak if they are to drag themselves off the foot of the table. The Us are still propping up the Championship despite a promising 1-1 draw with Southampton on Boxing Day, and Davison knows his team-mates need to shut up shop and avoid dropping any more points.
"There is no doubt the points dropped add up, and there have been a lot of games when we have been a 'nearly' team - nearly got a result, nearly got a draw," he told the club's official website.
"That is the difference, it's a fine line and we are being punished.
"That is charitable, and we have to be more solid in the second half of the season."
