Boss eyeing cup quarter-finals

Tue 29 Jan, 02:30 PM

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy feels his side's FA Cup fifth-round clash with Cardiff gives them a great chance of progressing in the competition.Wolves will face the Bluebirds, who beat Hereford on Sunday, at Ninian Park in a tie scheduled to be played on February 16 or 17.

"It's not a sexy one I'm afraid," McCarthy told the club's official website.

"You could get someone like Manchester United at home - have a rip-roaring tie - and if you don't win then no-one expects you to and you've made a lot of money.

"We've got a great chance now. We've beaten Cardiff once at their place already this season and I'd sooner be going there than to Liverpool.

"We have more chance of progressing than if we'd be drawn to travel to Anfield."
