Roberts adds to Hatters misery

Tue 29 Jan, 11:45 PM

Christian Roberts' fifth goal of the season secured a 1-0 away victory over Luton and stretched Swindon's unbeaten run to 10 games. The striker pounced in the 52nd minute, jinking past Alan Goodall and Chris Perry with ease and driving a low left-footed shot past the exposed goalkeeper Dean Brill from 10 yards.

There was little quality on show in a dreadful game as the relegation-threatened hosts struggled to put any meaningful pressure on the visitors.

The Hatters did have the ball in the net in the 14th minute but Drew Talbot was flagged offside as he stroked home after Peter Brezovan had parried David Bell's 20-yard strike.

The Robins had the better chances with Lee Peacock going close with headers in each half and Moses Ashikodi blazing over the bar with just Brill to beat in the 22nd minute.

Luton couldn't take advantage of a generous allowance of seven minutes of injury time added on after Swindon skipper Hasney Aljofree had to leave from the field late on nursing a head injury.
