Lille star Eden Hazard has told French television he wants to join a Premier League club this summer.

The Belgian winger, considered one of the hottest prospects in Europe, has been linked with a number of top clubs in Europe.

Nouvelle riche French league leaders Paris St. Germain were expected to make a bid for the 21-year-old but Hazard said he has no desire to stay in France after completing the season with Lille.

"I want to play in England because it a style of play that I like," he told Canal +.

"I want to play for a big club, but also one where I will play every week.

"I've played more than 100 games in Ligue 1 so I would prefer to go abroad. I want to discover something new and playing abroad is a conscious decision."

Chelsea and Arsenal have often been linked with the £30m-rated star and Hazard confirmed a move to the Emirates would interest him.

"Is Arsenal a possibility? Of course! We all know the quality of Arsenal," he said.

  2. 30M is a bargain, if he's English you're talking about £40M atleast, it would be good to see him at Chelsea as he is the type of player AVB is best suited for but you never know when Man City is about, will he be able to resist the temptation of playing with the quality City have and making the money they do? doubt it but I hope he does.

Not really sure if Arsenal can afford to spend 30M on an attacking player when they badly need defenders.

    He's off to Chelsea,

He says he wants to go to a big club so that rules out Arsenal and Man City as recent reports show on a global scale neither are big. Oh yes, then there is the club the alledged tax dodger coaches but they are even smaller.

United are potless so that leaves Chelsea.

    Easy to resolve..

  7. @dean

With Man City playing time is exactly the problem. They can't play him in his preferred positions (winger) without dropping 1 of Aguero, Silva and Nasri to the bench (Milner and Johnson are also in line for those positions). I don't see that happening.

  8. Arsenal, Spurs - can't afford;
Man Utd - don't want to splash out/don't need another winger
Liverpool - won't be able to offer CL football next season

Man City - can't guarantee a regular starting place

    Verdict:
Hazard goes to Chelsea FC (perhaps Man City if he cares more about money than playing time).

  9. As long as he doesn't go to the two clubs that are destroying football: Chelsea and Manchester City then it's all good.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs have no chance of getting Hazard, only between City and United and I can't even see United getting him, they had to beg Scholes out of retirement, goes to show how skint they are!

  14. "But also one where I will play every week" suggests the likes of the two Manchester clubs are out of the running because they have too much quality. Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea in his position, apart from Gareth Bale, they don't really have anyone else, no noticeable hierarchy. So it is only a matter of who would pay and who can pay, ruling Arsenal and Tootenham out respectively. PREDICTION=CHELSEA.
