Scunthorpe will be without suspended midfielder Matt Sparrow for the home clash with Coventry in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.Sparrow will sit out the first of a three-game ban after being sent off in last week's home draw with Southampton for serious foul play.

But Grant McCann will return to the squad following his own three-match suspension and could go straight into the starting line-up.

Iron manager Nigel Adkins could also be boosted by the return of Kevan Hurst who missed out last week due to a heavy cold.

Fit-again defender Izzy Iriekpen is hoping for a return to the starting line-up after stepping off the bench against Southampton for his first appearance in over four months.

Scunthorpe are looking to secure their first win in five league matches in their bid to climb off the bottom of the table.
