A spectacular goal by Nicky Adams 20 minutes from time gave Bury their fifth win in seven games as they beat Shrewsbury 1-0 at New Meadow.Elliot Bennett, who went to school in nearby Telford, beat three men in a brilliant run from his own half and sent Adams away on the left wing. He then curled a 25-yard shot into the far corner.
Shrewsbury had chances to win for the first time in 13 games but leading scorer Dave Hibbert missed two good chances, Graeme Lee, with time and space, fired wide while goalkeeper Darran Randolph kept a shot from Chris Humphrey out with his legs.
Earlier, Andy Bishop missed two one-on-one openings to add to his tally of 17 goals for Bury this season.
