James Derry has resigned his position as Mansfield's non-executive chairman to add to the relegation-threatened League Two club's woes.Derry made the announcement on Friday evening after his attempts to complete a takeover of the club collapsed for the third time.
In a statement Derry said: "For a number of months I have attempted to form a consortium to purchase Mansfield Town Football Club.
"Ultimately these efforts have not succeeded and I feel that my position as non-executive chairman of the club is now untenable. I therefore, with immediate effect, resign as chairman of the club."
