Heavy rain led to the second-half abandonment of Chester's clash against Stockport at Deva Stadium with the score deadlocked at 0-0.Match official Ian Williamson made the decision to bring a halt to the proceedings in the 59th minute, after monsoon-like weather left the pitch heavily waterlogged.
Both sides seemed perplexed by the decision, especially after the match official had inspected the pitch at half-time and decided to continue, and conditions had seemed no worse than when the game had first started.
Chances in the game had been limited, with County looking the most likely to get a breakthrough and striker Liam Dickinson going close on several occasions.
