Gillingham striker Simeon Jackson has yet to hit form as his side were left staring relegation in the face after a 0-0 home draw with Carlisle.Jackson - who joined from Rushden in January - netted his first goal against Bournemouth last weekend but rarely looked a threat as Gillingham slumped to their fourth home goalless draw of the year.
Carlisle midfield duo Marc Bridge-Wilkinson and Grant Smith nearly broke Gills hearts late on but it was not to be as the Cumbrians extended their unbeaten to 13 games.
The Gills were given an early scare when the returning Nicky Southall was forced to clear Simon Hackney's effort off the line after three minutes.
Canadian-born Jackson had a great chance to fire the hosts in front but he spooned straight at Kieren Westwood before the half-time whistle.
And the 21-year-old repeated the trick after the restart sending a 25-yard effort against the bar before somehow flashing over with the goal at his mercy.
