Roy Keane is unsure if Sunderland would win the race to sign Jonny Evans, should the Manchester United defender be made available for a move.Keane has welcomed loan signing Evans' admission this week that he would seriously consider a permanent switch to Wearside if things did not work out for him at Old Trafford.

Evans has made 10 Premier League starts since returning to the Stadium of Light in early January for a second loan spell, having previously helped the Black Cats win promotion from the Championship last season.

Keane said: "If Jonny is made available, if you think we would be the only club in for Jonny, then you would be in cuckoo land.

"I reckon there would be about 20 clubs in for him."
