I'm not pushing Lita out - Coppell

Sat 29 Mar, 02:00 PM

Leroy Lita still has a future at Reading, despite the striker extending his loan spell at Charlton, insists Royals manager Steve Coppell.Lita moved to the Addicks in January and recently extended his loan spell at The Valley until the end of the season.

Doubts have been cast over whether Lita has a future in Berkshire, but Coppell insists the loan is purely to give the England Under-21 striker some much-needed match action.

Coppell insistsed: "I've done it because four into two doesn't go and Leroy wants to play competitive games. I can't really put two strikers on the bench and we only have about three reserve games left in which he can play. At Charlton he has just had four games in a row."

Lita, a £1million signing from Bristol City, only has a year of his Reading contract left but Coppell confirmed: "He has a future at Reading."
