Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger remains hopeful a new contract can be agreed with midfielder Mathieu Flamini by the end of next month. The 23-year-old - who almost quit the club last summer - has been an integral part of Wenger's side this season.
However, with the player's current deal set to expire at the end of the campaign, the Gunners boss wants a conclusion sooner rather than later.
"There is still no answer yet, but we are progressing," said Wenger.
"I want to solve this case one way or another in April."
Wenger insists he will do all he can to stop any of his current squad leaving this summer.
He said: "My first target is to keep this team together. When that job is done, I can go somewhere else and look.
"But I have not completed that job yet."
