PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (AFP) - The Phoenix Suns started fast and finished strong Friday in a 107-93 National Basketball Association victory over the Philadlephia 76ers.
Amare Stoudemire scored 22 points and Raja Bell chipped in 20, while Leandro Barbosa and Boris Diaw both had 17 points off the bench for the Suns, who avenged a 119-114 loss to the 76ers on March 1.
Mid-season import Shaquille O'Neal added 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Suns, who leapt to a 38-19 lead after the first quarter.
They held Philadelphia to just 25 percent shooting from the field to remain in control.
Phoenix stayed in charge in the second quarter, stretching their lead to 24 points on Stoudemire's tip-in with 6:06 left.
Former two-time Most Valuable Player Steve Nash's 21-foot jump shot just before the buzzer helped Phoenix take a 61-44 edge into the locker room.
Philadelphia twice narrowed the gap to 10 points, the second time with 9:52 to play.
Diaw nailed a three-pointer that ignited an 11-2 run by the Suns to re-establish a comfortable margin.
