Darren Pratley scored twice to help Swansea move a step closer to the Coca-Cola League One title with a 3-1 victory over Hartlepool at Victoria Park.
The home side had taken the lead after just 26 seconds when Gary Liddle swept the ball past Swansea goalkeeper Dorus De Vries from close range.
Roberto Martinez's side equalised in the 23rd minute when Pratley's low shot beat Arran Lee-Barrett before Ben Clark brought down Jason Scotland to give the visitors a penalty in first-half injury time.
Scotland dusted himself down to take the resulting spot-kick and calmly placed the ball past Lee-Barrett.
Pratley then sealed the points with an 18-yard strike in the 73rd minute which extends Roberto Martinez's side lead over second-placed Carlisle.
The Cumbrians are now seven points behind Swansea after they were held to a 0-0 draw at Priestfield by struggling Gillingham.
Lee Barnard scored two minutes after half-time to keep Southend's bid to reach the play-offs on course with a 1-0 over fellow contenders Walsall at Roots Hall.
Brighton remain two points outside the play-offs after they were held to a 0-0 draw by fellow contenders Leeds.
