Blitz concerned over injury crisis

Tue 29 Apr, 03:30 PM

Oldham chairman Simon Blitz says the club will take the necessary steps to ascertain why they have suffered so badly with injuries this term. The Latics have been decimated at times by a crippling casualty list which has reduced key players such as Lee Hughes, Craig Davies, Sean Gregan and Andy Liddell to the sidelines.

The injury crisis put paid to their play-off hopes but Blitz says answers must be found as to why so many players have been ruled out of action.

Blitz said: "We have had the most horrific injury problems that I have seen since taking over and the constant changing of playing personnel and bringing in of loan players will seriously disrupt any team.

"Perhaps we never quite adapted to it. But if I flip the coin again I would ask why we have had so many injury problems and what are we doing about it.

"Answers will be found."
