Martinez wants fine Swans finish

Tue 29 Apr, 07:00 PM

Roberto Martinez has challenged his Swansea side to smash the 90-point barrier by finishing the season in style at Brighton. The Swans head to the Withdean well aware victory would see them finish on 92 points and in doing so ensure they will definitely be crowned League One champions irrespective of the outcome of Leeds' arbitration hearing.

"We need to make sure we finish the season on a high," Martinez told the Swansea Evening Post.

"They say in football that you are only as good as your last game as a player and it's true. We have had a fantastic campaign, but we don't want the boys to go on their holidays with any mixed feelings in their bodies.

"We need to work hard this week and make sure we get a good performance at Brighton for ourselves and for the fans. And to get over 90 points, which we would do with a result this weekend, would be a great achievement."
