McAllister leaves Parker at Darlo

Tue 29 Apr, 04:15 PM

Darlington have received a play-off boost after Leeds manager Gary McAllister confirmed he will not cut short Ben Parker's loan spell.McAllister was expected to invoke a 24-hour recall clause with Alan Sheehan handed a three-game ban for his straight red card at Yeovil on Friday.

But McAllister said: "It's obviously something we've had a close look at, but my feeling is that I'll probably leave Ben at Darlington for the play-offs.

"He's had a good little run up there and we've got Andrew Hughes and Darren Kenton who can play in that position."

Parker is the only other left-back in the Leeds squad, but McAllister will also be boosted by the return of left-sided midfielder Ian Westlake from his loan spell at Brighton in time for the last-day clash with Gillingham.
